Curious about trying a Pole Dancing class? I’m sure you have a few questions, and we are here to give you somewhat of a visual as to what you should expect in your first Pole Dancing class!
Do I need to already be at a certain fitness level to take a Pole Dancing Class?
The answer is no! I want you to step back, and start looking at Pole Dancing like any other fitness class. Think of the classes that your local gym might offer: Step class, cycling, aerobics, etc. Just like that, they are designed to get you fit, and in shape. Exactly the same as Pole Fitness! These classes are for the everyday woman. You can be any size, age, or fitness ability!
But what if I have no upperbody strength?
Neither did I! And you joined the PERFECT class that is going to help you with your core and upperbody strength – and surprisingly other things as well!
But I just don’t feel sexy, and I have no dancing experience. Throughout our life, we all tend to lose that feeling of “sexiness”, or our confidence in ourselves altogether. Which is exactly why it’s important to start living your life for YOU and get it back! As women we tend to lose ourselves when it comes to serving our families, climbing up the career ladder, and the busyness of it all. Until you step out of your comfort zone, you will never know exactly what you’re capeable of. Sure, in my first pole class, I thought to myself “what on earth am I doing here? I am SO not sexy!” And now, I think that I could have never made a better decision than to join. It has been such a rewarding experience to learn to love myself, and appreciate all the amazing things that my body can actually do! You will learn to tune into your body, your sensuality, and how it all simultaneously and beautifully it works together!
What do I wear?
Well according to popular belief, you are supposed to wear “itty bitty clothing” to Pole Dancing Classes. Not true! You will come to your first class wearing whatever you feel comfortable in! Yes, you can wear your baggiest sweat pants! Your clothing won’t matter as you’re trying to conquer some strength pole moves and spins. As you increase your skill and master your moves, eventually there is need for sports bras and shorts in order to get perfect grip on the pole (not to look like an exotic dancer!) And by this time, you will have gained a LOT more confidence in your body, and yourself, and you will notice inches lost. You will feel comfortable and ready for these things. And plus, who else do you know that can hang from their inside leg on a pole? Exactly! (Everytime I walk into a place that might be a little bit out of my comfort zone, I remind myself that they probably can’t do this! TeeHee)
If you ever have any other questions, our lovely instructors will always be there to answer them. Just try taking the first step to the rest of your life! Pole Fitness is the only type of fitness that offers strength building, friendship building, confidence building, and the feeling of sexiness all in one. We are all like-minded women at Aradia that have families, fulltime jobs, and a passion for fitness that is FUN. Hope to see you there!
