General Questions

Thank you for choosing Aradia Fitness! With the popularity of pole dance and aerial fitness as it continues to grow more mainstream, we understand that many people have taken or tried pole dancing or aerial classes before. We certainly cannot wait to welcome you into the Aradia Fitness family as you continue your pole journey.

Our goal is to place you into a level where you will feel comfortable. We know it is often intimidating to get started at a new studio as class structures, teaching styles and technique names vary from studio to studio.

If you have previous experience, it’s not necessary for you to start from the beginning. Simply email us at edmonton@aradiafitness.com, and we will figure out the best class that suits your ability.

If you are new to pole or aerials, you start at Pole 1/ Hoop 1/ Silks 1.  You do not need to take an Intro class beforehand. However, if you’re not sure pole or aerial is the right fit for you, and you’d like to come give it a try, Intro To Pole Dancing is a 1-time teaser class that you can find on our schedule, generally taking place on weekends!

We wear normal workout clothing- what you feel comfortable to move around in.  As you progress to the higher levels, skirts or shorts are encouraged (especially for inverting).  After Pole 2, students are welcome to bring in their dance shoes. On the day of class, please refrain from applying hand lotion, this makes hands slippery. At the time of class, please remove rings, bracelets and watches.  All aerial classes require leggings on the apparatus.

No worries! Most students feel shy and nervous in their first class, but once they walk through our door and enter our studio- they feel welcomed and encouraged!  Our studio is private, with small class sizes.  Our instructors are encouraging, non-judgmental and lots of fun! Our program consists of floor, mat and apparatus work which comes together to build a total body workout with the fun of course!

Absolutely. Many of our students are returning to movement after a long break — or trying something new for the very first time. Our classes are designed with multiple options and progressions, so you can move at your own pace and build strength and confidence safely.

Our instructors prioritize proper technique, rest when needed, and celebrating small wins. You’re never expected to be perfect or keep up with anyone else — just show up, try your best, and enjoy the process. Strength, mobility, and confidence come quickly when you move consistently in a supportive environment.

Platform shoes are not required! They are not introduced in any of our levelled pole sessions. If you would like to wear platform shoes, you must be in level 3 and above, or take a “Heels Poleflow” choreography class, in which heels are specifically used in that class.

No, there is no weight limit for participating in pole or aerial classes. At our studio, we welcome individuals of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Our classes are designed to be inclusive and accommodating to everyone, regardless of their weight or body type. If you have any concerns about participating in our classes due to your weight, we encourage you to reach out to our team. We are here to answer any questions you may have and to provide any additional support or accommodation you may need to feel comfortable and confident in our studio.

Absolutely! As a matter of fact, most of our students have no dance background. (And you might be surprised to find out how coordinated you are after a few classes!)

Of course you can!!!  The beauty of pole fitness is that it trains your upper body (as well as the rest of it) to build the strength necessary to progress and it all begins from the FIRST class you take!

Classes

The best way to sign up for a class, is to visit our “Schedule” page under “Classes” and click on the class that you would like to sign up for. Pre-payment is required to hold a spot in the class. All class registrations and class payments are accessible through the Groovio app!

Classes are approximately 55-60 minutes long.  We offer several dates and times of each level every week, which allows you to create the frequency of attendance that best fits into your lifestyle.

For complete pricing information, please visit the Pricing tab under the “Classes” page

We think that’s a great idea! The more classes you take each week, the faster you will progress!  Check out our Class Packs and Memberships to decide what the best option is for you!

The short answer is no.  Please pick and choose the class you would like to attend.  Yes some Aerial and Pole classes run at the same times and end at different times however without a cool down or warm up in one or the other class, this could cause injury.  It is also disruptive to other students when people are jumping in or jumping out of classes at different times.  There are plenty of options available so please view the schedule to select classes that you can complete in full.

Clients quickly discover that pole dancing is not quite as easy as it looks!  Both pole dance and aerial fitness are forms of movement that are unlike any activity you have done before.  After your first class, you will feel how sore your new “pole / aerial muscles” are.

At Aradia Fitness, safety is a top priority.  While we appreciate the enthusiasm of clients who want to advance quickly to do “that cool trick” she saw on YouTube, we urge you to keep the age-old saying in mind – “You can’t run before you can walk!”

Depending on the time clients are prepared to invest in their pole fitness journey, we have found it takes people anywhere from 8-16 classes before they can safely & properly perform the techniques, tricks & spins of each level.  For aerial it is between 12-20 classes typically.  The last thing we want is for a client to injure themselves attempting a technique that their body is not yet ready for.  Taking at least one class or more per week will help you advance more rapidly than taking infrequent classes… it’s like any other workout.  The more frequent, the more results.

Yes, we offer private and semi-private lessons. These are customized lessons, based on the clients’ interests and goals. To find out more about private lessons, please email us at edmonton@aradiafitness.com.

Due to the inherent sensual nature of most Aradia Fitness classes, all clients must be eighteen years of age or older to attend classes at our studio or with parental consent and signature for those from 14 to 17 years old.  We CAN offer a “toned down” version of our pole fitness classes for younger groups if requested, however this would need to be scheduled as a private lesson and parental waivers will be required.

Nope – no nudity!  Some classes may teach striptease techniques but you are covered at all times.

Yes. Our classes are co-ed. We are inclusive to anyone and everyone and we find our students all feel comfortable around each other and become friends quickly!

If you miss a scheduled class, you have 14 days to make it up by booking into another eligible class of the same level and length, subject to availability. After the 14-day window, the credit automatically expires and cannot be reinstated.

If you are unable to attend due to illness or an unexpected circumstance, please contact us as soon as possible — we are always happy to review exceptions when communicated in advance or promptly.

Because our classes run in small group formats and spots are limited, missed classes cannot be refunded, transferred, or used as a discount toward future sessions.

sessions.

We offer a 48-hour refund window prior to the start of your first scheduled class. Refund requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before the first class begins to be eligible.

Once your first class has started — or within 48 hours of the start date — all purchases are final sale. This includes memberships, class packs, series registrations, workshops, events, private sessions, retail purchases, and gift cards.

Refunds are not provided for missed classes, schedule changes, personal conflicts, or change of mind.

In cases of medical or unforeseen circumstances, account credit may be offered at our discretion when communicated in a timely manner. Credits are non-refundable and must be used within their assigned expiry period.
