General Questions.
Thank you for choosing Aradia Fitness! With the popularity of pole dance and aerial fitness as it continues to grow, we understand many people have tried pole or aerial classes before. We can't wait to welcome you into the Aradia Fitness family as you continue your journey.
Our goal is to place you into a level where you'll feel comfortable. Class structures, teaching styles, and technique names vary from studio to studio, so it's totally normal to feel unsure. If you have previous experience, you don't need to start from the beginning — just email edmonton@aradiafitness.com and we'll find the best class for your ability.
If you're new to pole or aerials, you start at Pole 1 / Hoop 1 / Silks 1. You do not need to take an Intro class beforehand.
That said — if you're not sure pole or aerial is the right fit for you and you'd like to come give it a try, Intro To Pole Dancing is a one-time teaser class you'll find on our schedule, generally on weekends.
Normal workout clothing — whatever you feel comfortable moving in. As you progress to higher levels, skirts or shorts are encouraged (especially for inverting). After Pole 2, students are welcome to bring in their dance shoes.
On the day of class, please refrain from applying hand lotion — it makes hands slippery. At the time of class, please remove rings, bracelets, and watches. All aerial classes require leggings on the apparatus.
No worries! Most students feel shy and nervous in their first class — but once they walk through our door, they feel welcomed and encouraged. Our studio is private, with small class sizes, and our instructors are encouraging, non-judgmental, and lots of fun.
Our program consists of floor, mat, and apparatus work that comes together to build a total-body workout — with the fun, of course.
Absolutely. Many of our students are returning to movement after a long break — or trying something new for the very first time. Our classes are designed with multiple options and progressions, so you can move at your own pace and build strength and confidence safely.
Our instructors prioritize proper technique, rest when needed, and celebrating small wins. You're never expected to be perfect or keep up with anyone else — just show up, try your best, and enjoy the process. Strength, mobility, and confidence come quickly when you move consistently in a supportive environment.
Platform shoes are not required. They are not introduced in any of our levelled pole sessions.
If you would like to wear platform shoes, you must be in Level 3 and above, or take a Heels Poleflow choreography class, in which heels are specifically used.
No, there is no weight limit for participating in pole or aerial classes. At our studio, we welcome individuals of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Our classes are designed to be inclusive and accommodating to everyone, regardless of weight or body type.
If you have any concerns about participating due to your weight, we encourage you to reach out to our team. We're here to answer any questions and provide any additional support or accommodation you may need to feel comfortable and confident in our studio.
Absolutely! In fact, most of our students have no dance background — and you might be surprised to find out how coordinated you are after a few classes.
Of course you can. The beauty of pole fitness is that it trains your upper body (and the rest of you) to build the strength necessary to progress — and it all begins from the first class you take.
Classes.
The best way to sign up is to visit our Schedule page under "Classes" and click on the class you'd like to attend. Pre-payment is required to hold a spot. All class registrations and payments are accessible through the Groovio app.
Classes are approximately 55–60 minutes long. We offer several dates and times of each level every week, which lets you build a frequency of attendance that fits your lifestyle.
For complete pricing information, please visit the Pricing page under "Classes".
We think that's a great idea! The more classes you take each week, the faster you'll progress. Check out our Class Packs and Memberships to decide what works best for you.
Short answer: no. Please pick the one you'd like to attend.
Some aerial and pole classes run at overlapping times and end at different times — but without a cool down or warm up in one or the other, this could cause injury. It's also disruptive to other students when people jump in or out at different times. There are plenty of options available, so please view the schedule to select classes you can complete in full.
Clients quickly discover that pole dancing is not quite as easy as it looks! Both pole dance and aerial fitness are forms of movement unlike anything else you've done. After your first class, you'll feel how sore your new "pole / aerial muscles" are.
At Aradia Fitness, safety is a top priority. While we appreciate the enthusiasm of clients who want to advance quickly to do "that cool trick" they saw online, we urge you to keep the age-old saying in mind — you can't run before you can walk.
Depending on the time you're prepared to invest, we've found it takes most people 8–16 classes to safely and properly perform the techniques of each pole level, and 12–20 classes for aerial. Taking at least one class or more per week will help you advance more rapidly — it's like any workout. The more frequent, the more results.
Yes, we offer private and semi-private lessons — customized to your interests and goals. Email us at edmonton@aradiafitness.com to find out more.
At Aradia, many of our classes explore sensual movement, confidence, and self-expression in a mature and respectful space. For this reason, our regular classes are open to participants aged 16 and older. Students under 18 are absolutely welcome with signed parental or guardian consent.
We also love supporting younger movers in a way that feels aligned and appropriate. Teen-specific classes can be offered upon request, with a minimum of four participants required to run.
Nope — no nudity. Some classes may teach striptease techniques, but you are covered at all times.
Yes. Our classes are co-ed. We are inclusive to anyone and everyone, and our students all feel comfortable around each other and become friends quickly.
If you miss a scheduled class, you have 14 days to make it up by booking into another eligible class of the same level and length, subject to availability. After the 14-day window, the credit automatically expires and cannot be reinstated.
If you're unable to attend due to illness or an unexpected circumstance, please contact us as soon as possible — we're always happy to review exceptions when communicated in advance or promptly. Because our classes run in small group formats and spots are limited, missed classes cannot be refunded, transferred, or used as a discount toward future sessions.
We offer a 48-hour refund window prior to the start of your first scheduled class. Refund requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before the first class begins to be eligible.
Once your first class has started — or within 48 hours of the start date — all purchases are final sale. This includes memberships, class packs, series registrations, workshops, events, private sessions, retail purchases, and gift cards. Refunds are not provided for missed classes, schedule changes, personal conflicts, or change of mind.
In cases of medical or unforeseen circumstances, account credit may be offered at our discretion when communicated in a timely manner. Credits are non-refundable and must be used within their assigned expiry period. If Aradia cancels a class, workshop, or event, a full refund or credit will be provided.
